Eero and Gecko in.touch wifi
Can anyone perhaps give some advice on why my Gecko in.touch wifi controller for my hot tub cannot see my Eero? When I direct connect to the controller I can see all the neighbours wifi options, but no sign of the Eero even though I have full bars with both my computer and phone in the location. I have cut and pasted something from the techbook if it perhaps provides any hints as to why I am having no success.
Router compatibility : Should not filter broadcast messages and should not use WEP encryption. Damn Linksys, you dumb.
Had a webchat with one of my fiber to the home subscribers today. Was going through the automatic setup for her wireless internet. It popped up saying "Your modems not available" yet she was online fine. Weird, Linksys software must be glitch, not sure what it checks there. I assured her that our service would work fine with her wireless router. Just give a call to Linksys to help over the phone set it up, since we don't support end users equipment. She said okay, and went on her way.
An hour later she comes back in and said Linksys didn't support her setup and wanted to know if we had something. I ask her what Linksys said specifically, and they told her "Get an ISP that's DSL or Cable as we don't recommend you use a wireless router on fiber optics." After assuring her that hundreds of other customers of ours use Linksys routers, I recommended she seek out a friend, as our service to setup that stuff is $80/Hr.
I'm not sure if Linksys script says that specifically since there's no modem to deal with and they just give up, or if the guy was feeling particularly lazy, but god damn.
