Is there software available that allow you to edit a screensaver? (for windows 7 ultimate)
(If this isn't the right subreddit for this question, let me know.)
Hey there, I work at a small family jewelry store and we just mounted a flat screen in our showroom that we play various slide shows of jewelry and what not.
So I discovered a screen saver of a rotating diamond that looks really good and everyone seems to like it. I was wondering if there is any software out there that would allow me to go in and place our company logo somewhere in that screen saver. If i could just place a stationary picture in the screen saver, that would be what I need. I'm running windows 7 ultimate. Thanks for any help you guys could provide! :)

Windows 7 Ultimate x64 - Software Hive borked, is there a way to extract an older one from an unmounted restore point?
To make a long story short, the Software Hive file became corrupted on my machine, and for some reason (possibly connected to this) all my System Restore points vanished. I got back into my system by replacing the broken Software Hive with a fresh one from a new install, but that obviously leaves things pretty messed up. I also managed to recover what I'm pretty sure is a restore point/shadow copy with the Recuva undelete program, but I have no idea how to get into it, as it doesn't seem to have any associations with System Restore.
I've tried an app called ShadowExplorer but that seems to only load restore points recognized by Windows. Is there any way to either crack this thing open or to reintegrate it into Windows? Failing that, is there any way to repair or extract the contents of a broken Hive file so as to rescue the undamaged bits?
I am loathe to do a reinstall, so I'm trying to exhaust all of my options before that.
Edit: perhaps there is a way to import or associate a VCS with the current system?
