Okay.. so 2015 15" MBP vs 2016 15" MBP for my lifestyle
Could use some advice. I went and ordered a BTO 15" MBP base model, with the upgraded HD to 512, and upgraded GPU to the Radeon 460. I also ordered a refurbished 15" 2015 MBP with the 2gb R370x and 512gb hard drive. I will be keeping one and returning one. Depending on which one I like more. I have already order a dongle on amazon that has USB-A, HDMI, SD card all in one. I am coming from a 2015" Maxed out 13" MBP, which did 95% of what I needed. However now I'm on the go more, and really value screen real estate and discrete graphics, so am upgrading to the 15" size.
I am not a "pro" but consider what I do to be more "pro" like, than casual usage.
OSX: - I multitask, with 10+ chrome tabs open - Use Notes/Reminders/Messages all at once - Spotify - My day trading software (for stocks) - Torrents - Sports streaming, usually to a TV through HDMI - DJ for small events - Use final cut pro to edit home made films - Have the Premiere suite and am looking to get into editing in that, along with Photoshop.
I had bootcamp set up with Windows 10 - Solidworks - Autocad - Steam with some games, AAA titles, but I realize I have to play at low/medium settings, I would love for them to look decent at least (xbox one/ps4 quality) - Emulators and Roms
My question to you guys is: Is the 2016 screen significantly better than the 2015? Money is not a factor, however I will be travelling with this to many countries and am slightly concerned of theft.
Overall I'm leaning towards the 2015, however once I get the 2016 I will be comparing the two with certain AAA games: Fallout 4, the new Tomb Raider, BF1 and also checking the screen quality. I think for all other uses, they both will be fine for my usage, since my old 13" did all of the above to my satisfaction.
